Sabina Group Study

Pagtulon-an Diha sa Grupo 6 Sesyon 2023

As biblical disciples, we are called to walk in obedience to Christ, offering ourselves as living sacrifices in the pursuit of his glory and eternal purposes at any cost. The question each of us must answer daily is, "Am I being obedient in what I know Christ has commanded?" The Sabina Group Study will inspire your class, group or family through the true story of Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand and the testimonies of seven women who, like Sabina, remained obedient to Christ at great cost.

Sesyon

  • Sabina Group Study Session 1: We Aren't Born Saints

Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand were pursuing "the good life," and they had little regard for the things of Christ. But God met Richard at the lowest point of his life to launch him on a spiritual journey. In this session, you will meet Gracia Burnham, who, alongside her husband, spent a year held hostage by radical Muslim terrorists.

  • Sabina Group Study Session 2: I Don't Want to Waste My Life

As Richard began his spiritual journey, he realized that he did not want to waste his life. Sabina did not agree with that sentiment, and Richard lovingly and patiently dealt with her doubt and opposition to Christ. In this session, you will meet Semse Aydin, who served with her husband, Necati, advancing the gospel in Turkey before he was killed by radical Islamists.

  • Sabina Group Study Session 3: The Journey Toward Discipleship

How do unexpected life circumstances impact your discipleship? Ricahrd and Sabina were relatively new Christians when the Nazi occupation dramatically changed life in Romania. They made specific choices in their faith journey that demonstrated their trust in God. In this session, you will meet Rashin Soodmand, who was 13 years old when her father was executed by the Iranian government for the crime of apostacy - leaving Islam to follow Christ.

  • Sabina Group Study Session 4: Necessary Risk

Many of us think that risk assessment helps us prioritize and avoid whatever might put us at risk. But is risk necessary for biblical disciples? In this session, you will meet Susanna Koh, whose husband, Pastor Raymond Koh, was abducted off the streets of Malaysia. Nearby security cameras captured the entire crime, and Susanna has not heard from Raymond since the abduction.

  • Sabina Group Study Session 5: Obedient Forgiveness

God worked powerfully in Sabina's life when she encountered the soldier who was responsible for the death of her family. In this session, you will meet Anita Smith, whose husband, Ronnie, was shot and killed in the Libyan city of Benghazi. Within days of his murder, Anita spoke on national television - what do you think was her message?

  • Sabina Group Study Session 6: Fruitfulness: The Result of Faithfulness

Faithful and obedient followers of Christ are supposed to bear spiritual fruit, but what does that actually mean? Does fruitfulness always come easily for biblical disciples? In this session, Maryam and Marziyeh share the story of how they witnessed boldly for Christ in Iran and paid the price, spending 259 days in prison.
